Write about it and if your blog gets popular you can smack some advertisements on it and make money. One thing is certain for every small business person, and particularly for women since we take on more responsibility at work and home. You need to have your team. You can use tools on Facebook (both profiles and pages) that import your blog. LinkedIn also has a similar application.

Books – Want to sell your own books online? Well you can do that too. Don’t have a book to sell? You can always dropship books, or you can sell Private Label Resell Rights books. These are books you buy in digital format and either resell as is, or re-write them to fit your own needs. If you aren’t interested in stocking books you can always sell your book on Amazon to be read on the Kindle reader.

If you think of Web 1. as simple websites — basically brochures online — then Web 2. is the next step of actual interaction online with your customers. Life as I knew it has done a total 180! I have to be honest and say that I have had a difficult week. My office is right off of the kitchen in my open concept house. The ying to my yang has been pretty good about keeping to his man cave for the most part, but does make frequent trips to the kitchen which is the hub of our home.

Take away: You may not have a secret handshake or claw for your business, but you may have a special acronym or formula you share with your clients. Give them something that is unique and proprietary to your business, make sure they understand that it was designed just for them, and encourage them to use it frequently (again, with pictures, mentions, etc).

Why are you in the business you are in? What are your core values, how can you cater your message and content to convey those values and what is meaningful to you in serving others?

Research best practices. One of the best ways to get better at social media mangement is to watch what other successful businesses are doing and apply some of those best practices to your efforts. Do a little research on your own to find the best examples for your business to follow.
