How To Create An Online Buzz

Do an assessment of your current social media activities. Have you set priorities on certain activities? Do you have a schedule for posting on your blog, or for scheduling status updates ahead of time? When do you start creating your status updates or blog posts? If you haven’t set a schedule for your social media activities for the week or for the whole month, create a timeline. Open an Excel spreadsheet and create a calendar, or you can open your Google Calendar, or sign up for an account at 30 Boxes. Create a simple calendar that you can follow so you can be more organized with your activities each week or month.

This means when you are one places like Twitter, facebook, or YouTube don’t just go out there and post a bunch of links to your affiliate pages and what not. This is a sign of a true amateur. Plus, nobody likes spam.

The text files are easier to set up too. And they will compress long urls for you in their software. Beware of using the same url (even if it is shortened), in programmed tweets for more than one account however. twitter will block that tweet across all your programmes and, again, you put that account at risk to de-activation. We prefer the Socialoomph function to shorten urls, because you can select your own new codename to use across your entire web footprint and therefore stay close to your brand or subject.

One thing that will greatly increase your brand and your trust with people on Social Media is leaving a very interesting comment that will grab peoples attention and make them naturally want to find out more about who you are and what you’re into.

YouTube can make a great tool to launch other online presences. Youtube is a lot of people and is very popular video sharing site. You can make the most of this by knowing how to set up a YouTube profile correctly. Give users helpful information pertaining to your business, including links to any blogs or other social media accounts you have set up.

Schedule your social media. I use Hootsuite as my social media mangement tool. I have all of the major social media networks as well as both my personal and fan page on Facebook walls all in one place on my Hootsuite dashboard. I go in first thing in the morning before I do anything else and take a few minutes to schedule several posts and tweets that will go out automatically throughout the day. Then I pop in and out to respond, retweet and engage.

There is is – simple, but providing the recipient with recommendations of three other people they can follow. You may have noticed I’ve also put a link to my site at the end. I figured there was still space to promote myself, as long as it wasn’t the main focus of the DM. I have a couple of alternative versions of this message, each promoting different people.
